Introduction:

Florida is one of 17 States randomly selected by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) for the Payment Error Rate Measurement (PERM) initiative for Federal fiscal year (FFY) 2011 (October 1, 2010 - September 30, 2011). For FFY 2010, CMS will measure Medicaid fee-for-service (FFS) claim payments, managed care capitation and premium payments made on behalf of beneficiaries. Florida Medicaid will conduct the measurement to estimate the level of error in its eligibility determinations for Medicaid and the State Children’s Health Insurance Program (SCHIP).

PERM is designed to comply with the Improper Payments Information Act of 2002 (IPIA; Public Law 107-300).
