Statewide Managed Care Behavioral Health and LMH Assisted Living Facility Workgroup/Meeting

The Statewide Managed Care Behavioral Health and LMH Assisted Living Facility Workgroup/Meeting is project managed by Jessica Grace, 850-412-3939 and Michelle Harkness, 850-412-4332.

The Statewide Managed Care Behavioral Health and LMH Assisted Living Facility Workgroup/Meeting (Group) first met in 2008. There were two meetings and then the Group was discontinued. It started back up in 2011 and has been running strong since. The Group was developed to provide an opportunity for the managed care organizations (MCOs), behavioral health providers, and stakeholders to come together to discuss any issues and concerns related to the implementation of managed care as it relates to behavioral health/mental health.

The goal of the Group is to provide the most appropriate, quality services, and the best access to care possible to Medicaid recipients who are in need. The Group is facilitated and project managed by HQA and Medicaid staff.

The Group has BH Principal Participants and ALF Principal Participants composed of individuals who have committed to attending every meeting regardless of location. They are the core of the Group. Additionally, there are Resource Participants who participate periodically when available. However, both principal and resource participants are active in all discussions, can add items to the agenda, participate in subgroups, etc.

ALF Subgroup

The purpose of the ALF Behavioral Health subgroup is to provide an opportunity for the MCOs, Behavioral Health Providers, and Assisted Living Facilities (ALF) representatives to come together to discuss any issues and concerns related to the provision of behavioral health services to residents of ALF's who are in a managed care plan. The issues are those that can be addressed by the individuals at the table which include but are not limited to service provision, identifying service needs, communication, identifying the barriers. This would be a statewide "operational" workgroup; to address concrete services, process, and procedures to ALF residents in managed care. The Group has Primary Participants, composed of individuals who have committed to attending every meeting regardless of location.
